Edith Cowan University has appointed four scholars to its inaugural chairs in justice studies, exercise and sports science, strategic information management and tourism.
Robert Newton has been appointed to ECU’s chair in exercise and sports science.
Professor Newton was previously associate professor in physical education at Ball State University, Indiana, United States.
Paul Moyle has been appointed to foundation centenary chair in justice studies and head of the school of justice and business law.
A lawyer and international criminologist, Professor Moyle was associate professor at The University of Western Australia’s law school.
Craig Standing has been appointed to chair in strategic information management.
Professor Standing was ECU’s associate professor management information systems.
Ross Dowling has been appointed foundation professor of tourism, the first permanent chair of tourism in Western Australia.
An expert on ecotourism, Professor Dowling was head of ECU’s school of marketing, tourism and leisure.
