Director wanted

IT’S understood Marketforce joint creative directors Adam Barker and Lori Canalini are setting up their own agency, leaving Perth’s biggest advertising agency scanning the horizon for a new director.

Industry sources claim the new agency, including the strategic skills of Marketforce communications director Tony Scampoli, will be named CIA – Creative Intelligence Agency.

Local advertising agencies are reporting the market is as tough as it has been for about 10 years, with 30 per cent recently slashed from the Government’s advertising budget.

Marketforce has also suffered some setbacks this year. First it lost the Burswood Resort Casino account to The Brand Agency, then Chicken Treat’s decided to handle its advertising needs with a number of independent operators.

Mr Barker said he was unable to comment on the new agency for legal reasons.
