Diploma Group has secured a $35 million development management agreement with the Department of Housing to develop a residential and commercial building on Campbell Street in West Perth.
The development will include 75 studio, one, two and three bedroom apartments.
It will also include 425m2 of commercial space.
Campbell Street is the second project Diploma has underway with the Department.
Diploma secured an 80 million contract in August to development 161 apartment over 14 storeys Pier Street in the city.
Diploma chief executive Nick Di Latte acknowledged it was an important milestone for the Campbell Street project.
He said the development will deliver an attractive, efficient and affordable development in the West end of the Perth CBD.
'In conjunction with JCY Architects, Diploma has developed a concept for the site that maximises the potential of its inner-city location and has a strong focus on sustainability,' said Mr Di Latte.
'Diploma is one of the largest developers of inner-city apartments in Western Australia and we have evidenced we are an industry leader in sustainable construction with these combined capabilities having been very important to the Department of Housing when selecting the right project partner,' Mr Di Latte continued.
Work is expected to commence onsite in the second half of 2011 with completion scheduled early in 2013.
