At the time, it was estimated that up to 25,000 people in Western Australia were living with diabetes. Today that number is estimated to be 100,000. DAWA is a not for profit health organisation that is responsive to the challenge of diabetes and their vision is "freedom from diabetes". It develops programs and services, initiatives and resources to support, educate and inform the community. DAWA also provides a number of products to help people living with diabetes, their carers and families.
