THE former Starhaven Caravan Park on Pearl Parade in Scarborough will be redeveloped into a $14 million residential village following its sale last week to developer, Skylake Investments. Initial plans for the 5,141 square metre site with an existing single shop front include 21 townhouses as well as two apartments above a general store, subject to City of Stirling approval. Skylake managing director Martin Fowles said the caravan park had become run down over recent years and its redevelopment would lift the Pearl Parade area. He said the new mini-residential estate would be called Stelara Living and the first house and land packages would be marketed from September through agents Knight Frank and Peard North Coast. “We’re keen to retain the existing shop but this will depend on the level of feedback we get from the community over the next few weeks,” Mr Fowles said. Skylake expects to lodge a development application with council in September and have construction complete by mid to late 2008. The developer has also secured another site on Pearl Parade, where it is building six units. Skylake also has two apartment projects in Rockingham, having bought the first mixed-use lot at LandCorp’s Rockingham Waterfront Village project in June last year.
