The AMEC Prospector Award and Media Awards were presented at a gala dinner last night.
The 2010 AMEC Prospector Award went to Margaret Hawke, John Evans and Graeme Hutton.
The judging panel consider the discovery of the DeGrussa project was a special mix of technical and scientific excellence, innovation, persistence and outstanding leadership.
The panel believed all three winners played a part in the considerable planning, research, geological analysis, mapping and drilling in the exploration area, which resulted in the significant discovery.
The media awards were presented to Frances Pratt from the Kalgoorlie Miner, the ABC's Babs McHugh, Ron Berryman from Resourcestocks magazine and Kate Emery from The West Australian.
