Perth-based contractor Decmil has won its sixth major contract for the year after securing two packages of works for Adani Mining’s Carmichael coal mine and rail project in Queensland.

The first package is a design and construction award for rail accommodation valued at $40 million.

The second package is an initial $1.4 million early contractor services (ECS) contract to scope the bulk earthworks required along the primary freight rail alignment.

Decmil said if the ECS was completed, it would likely enter into a contract for the construction works.

The announcement comes one month after the group's joint venture with McConnell Dowell finalised a $417 million contract with Major Roads Projects Victoria for work on the Mordialloc Freeway.

In April, Decmil was also awarded a $79 million contract with global energy company Vestas for plant works at the Yandin Wind Farm in Western Australia.

Shares in Decmil were down 0.33 per cent to trade at 90 cents per share, as at 1:20 AEDT.
