Decmil Group has entered into a joint venture agreement with US-based SolarReserve for the construction of a 70-megawatt solar photovoltaic plant in NSW.
Perth-based Decmil said today it had entered into a memorandum of understanding with an Australian subsidiary of SolarReserve for the development, design and construction of the solar PV project.
SolarReserve will be the project owner and developer, while Decmil companies, including subsidiary Scope Australia, will manage the development approval process and undertake engineering design work through to delivery as an engineer-procure-construct (“EPC”) contract.
Construction is expected to begin in 2018.
“Both organisations bring complementary skills together to form a highly formidable team to deliver utility grade solar PV projects in the Australian market,” Decmil managing director Scott Criddle said.
SolarReserve senior vice-president of development Tom Georgis said the MoU with Decmil would help advance the company’s pipeline of solar PV projects in the Australian market by partnering with an established contractor that has broad expertise in regional engineering construction.
Decmil shares were 0.5 per cent lower to 95 cents each at 1pm.
