DTI up on Dallas win

Perth-based technology company DTI Group has won a contract to supply its CCTV surveillance systems on light rail vehicles in the US city of Dallas, Texas, with the value of the deal worth up to $11.6 million.

DTI will supply and install surveillance systems on 48 light rail vehicles under a $US2.6 million ($A3.4 million) contract, along with its back-end CCTV management system to centralise and coordinate the CCTV data.

The contract with Dallas Area Rapid Transit also includes options for the installation of surveillance systems on an additional 115 light rail vehicles for the city of Dallas, valued at about $8.2 million.

The news sent DTI shares up 14.5 per cent to 35.5 cents each at 11am.

Work under the contract will begin during the first half of the 2017 financial year and will be delivered over a 12-month period.

DTI managing director Richard Johnson said the contract would build on over 15,000 systems already provided by the company to the US market to-date.

“This project demonstrates DTI's growing presence in providing advanced surveillance and information technology solutions and services in the US mass transit market, which is the biggest market in the world,” Mr Johnson said.

“Dallas now becomes another city in the US which has DTI solutions operating across rail or bus networks, joining Philadelphia and San Francisco.”
