DTI Group has won a $3.6 million contract to supply and install its CCTV recording system on a fleet of trains which operate on the London Underground.

The works were awarded by Transport for Lond and involves the supply and installation of 680 digital video recorders covering the entire central line fleet of vehicles.

Each rail car will also be equipped with high-definition five-megapixel cameras providing a 360-degree panoramic view of the passenger area.

DTI said deliveries for the systems are expected to commence in the current financial year and will be suppled over a period of four years as the trains undergo refurbishment.

The Perth Airport-based security system supplier said the contract complements its other project wins in the UK, in particular the London Underground Northern Line trains.

Last month, DTI Group won a $10 million contract to supply and install its CCTV recording system in Volgren’s 900 new buses in Western Australia.

Shares in DTI were up 6.38 per cent to trade at 5 cents each at 11.05amAEDT.
