POLICE and Justice Minister John D’Orazio quit cabinet last week after increasing pressure from within his own party ranks to resign. His resignation comes after months of scrutiny into his affairs after it was revealed he had not paid employee superannuation contributions and, more recently, was left red faced after failing to pay a speeding fine on time. Mr D’Orazio said his resignation was due to the distractions of recent events affecting the government and the standing of the premier.
