Apex Minerals says it has been told the gas supply to its Wiluna mine would be disrupted for the next week as a result of damage caused by cyclone Carlos at Apache's Varanus Island gas processing facility.
Gas supplies from Varanus Island have been shut off since Wednesday afternoon.
Apex said it was using diesel generators to ensure essential services were maintained, but minimal mining and processing would occur until the gas supply is restored.
In a separate unrelated incident, a seismic event caused minor damage to the decline of Apex' Wiluna mine yesterday morning.
Apex said there were no injuries ore equipment damage as a result of the tremor.
