The Brand Agency is likely to take over Curtin University of Technology's advertising account, which has been managed by Gatecrasher for the past five years.
Curtin University chose The Brand agency as a prefered tenderer after the contract with Gatecrasher Advertising was recently put under review.
The account is said to be worth up to $4 million.
Curtin University marketing manager Michelle McDonald told WA Business News that nine agencies were initially invited to tender and a smaller group, which included Gatecrasher, pitched for the business.
Mrs McDonald said that although The Brand Agency is the preferred tenderer at this stage, Curtin and The Brand still have to go through the contract negotiations before officially announcing the final decision.
Curtin University came up second of the top five best employer brands in this year's WA Business News Branding Survey, behind Wesfarmers.
The Curtinnovation campaign developed by Gatecrasher in 2003 and the heavy investment made through newspaper recruitement advertising in the past twelve months was acknowledged by the marketing and advertising sector in the survey responses as elements that improved Curtin's employer brand.
