Curtin University has raised more than $100,000 in its annual fundraising drive to pay for its community radio station, Curtin FM.
The station has been on air since 1976 and depends entirely on donated funds and volunteers.
Each year it runs a 'Radiothon' to attract donations and this year exceeded its $90,000 target by $12,000.
The $102,000 raised came from 1,750 individual donations ranging from $5 to $2,500.
More than 70 volunteers were involved in running the event.
As well as paying for the station's operating costs, the money raised will be used to help fund Curtin University's cadet journalism course.
Curtin FM is Western Australia's largest community radio station, with more than 200,000 weekly listeners.
