Croesus puts Davyhurst on hold. Croesus Mining has decided to place its Davyhurst gold mining operation on care and maintenance due to increasing operating costs. Placing Davyhurst, 120 kilometres north-west of Kalgoorlie, on care and maintenance will allow the company to focus on growing gold production from its Norseman operations and maintain an aggressive exploration focus in the area, the gold miner said. The closure is expected to take place between mid-October and mid-November, to allow mining of the Federal Flag open pit and processing of remaining stockpiles.
