IFAP is holding its inaugural International Crisis & Emergency Management Conference and exhibition, June 1 and 2 at Arena Joondalup. During this conference aspects of emergency management, in a variety of WA focused industries, will be analysed including the mining, offshore, energy and government sectors. Keynote speakers for the event include: • Mick Keelty APM – Australian Federal Police commissioner; • Trevor Clement – acting director general, Emergency Management Australia (Australian Government); • Paul Finnigan – deputy CEO, National Offshore Petroleum Safety Authority; • William Paterson – ambassador at the Australian Embassy in Bangkok; • Dr Kongkiat Kespechara - director at Bangkok Hospital in Phuket; and • Julia Houghton – emergency planning manager for the Hertfordshire County Council in the UK. The conference will be followed by the Emergency Response Games on June 3, which invites teams to practice the skills they learnt at the conference.
