Convention next week

WA’s premier strategic resources event for business and finance professionals will be held next week.

CPA Australia’s 2000 Resources Convention is a unique opportunity to learn more about the issues facing the resources sector in the new millennium.

To be held on August 17 and 18 at the Hyatt Regency, topics include e-business, the impact of tax reform and GST, carbon credits and trading, risk management, triple bottom line reporting and sustainable development.

Speakers include Resources Minister Colin Barnett, Normandy Mining chief financial officer David Hillier and conservationist Harry Butler.

There will also be high level presentations and case studies from companies such as WMC,

BP Amoco, Chevron Australia, Anaconda Nickel, Woodside Energy and Equinox Resources.

A special gala dinner featuring Australian and WA cricketer Guy McKenna will also be held during the convention.
