WorleyParsons has been awarded a contract extension for engineering services at Chevron’s Gorgon and Wheatsone LNG projects, while NRW Holdings has received a $93 million extension to its Stanmore Coal contract.

Under the extension, WorleyParsons will continue to provide brownfield engineering services to support the onshore and offshore Gorgon and Wheatstone LNG assets and the Barrow and Thevenard Islands oil assets in Western Australia.

The company has held the current contract for five years.

The extension is for a further two years with options for one additional two-year term and one additional one-year term.

The services will be executed from WorleyParsons’ WA office with support from other offices.

“We are proud that Chevron continues to choose WorleyParsons and we look forward to growing our relationship with Chevron,” chief executive Andrew Wood said.

Meanwhile, NRW said it had extended its current contract at Isaac Plains East until June 2019.

The scope of works will be in line with the existing contract, which includes drilling and blasting, mining and mine rehabilitation, among other things.

“I am extremely pleased that Golding will continue the productive partnership with Stanmore Coal at Isaac Plains East,” managing director Jules Pemberton said.

“Further, I look forward to working with Stanmore Coal to sustain this relationship longer term as they continue to grow their resource base.”

Shares in NRW were up 6.23 per cent today at $1.45 each.
