A DEDICATED advocate from Lesmurdie and a Geraldton-based non-profit group have won the inaugural WA Consumer Protection Awards.
Anne Hawkins won the Ronan Okely Award for her long record as a committed advocate with long service to social and humanitarian agencies.
She is currently a financial counsellor with the City of Cockburn and still finds time to mentor other workers within the social services sector.
Ms Hawkins is also a board member of her local Community Bank.
The Richard (Dick) Fletcher Award has gone to the Geraldton Resource Centre, a not-for-profit community agency that has been providing services to their community since 1984.
GRC has helped more than 67,000 people across almost 690,000 square kilometres including Indigenous people in the Mid West and people whose first language is not English.
