AFTER 21 years in private ownership, Western Australian direct mail and communications firm Post Data has been sold to fast growing listed company Computershare.
Post Data’s joint founder and current managing director, Peter Milner, will be leaving the company after a transitional period, with day-to-day running of the business left to general manager Bob Blakiston.
Mr Milner started Post Data from a spare room in his home in 1983 and, following an ownership restructure in 2001, has been sole owner of the business.
It now employs up to 50 staff, providing electronic and paper-based communication services to clients including Bunnings, B Digital, Alinta, Asgard and the Water Corporation.
Computershare Document Services global chairman David Hynes described Post Data as a hybrid of the traditional mail house and a modern service bureau, with the latter focusing more on data management and electronic billing services.
He said the acquisition would help Computershare better service its share registry clients in Perth and give it the ability to provide “local fulfilment” for its national clients.
