Company on good wicket

RENOWNED international cricketer Damien Martyn plans to become more involved in the publicity for his travel consultancy, says director Gayle Martyn.

Now in its fourth year, Damien Martyn National World Travel was the first National World Travel franchise in WA.

With Mr Martyn frequently overseas, his mother Gayle took over management following a career in teaching.

“When he comes back to Australia, I’ll get him to strut his stuff more,” Mrs Martyn said.

“Put him on a cricket field and he’s at home but he’s actually quite shy, so it’s been an interesting experience to persuade him to be more involved in the marketing side of the business.”
