CollTech off to good start

BIO-INDUSTRIAL company CollTech Australia has completed construction of its ovine collagen extraction facility in Collie on time. CollTech expects to complete commissioning of the facility and plans to be producing ovine-sourced collagen for sales by the end of March. The company’s patented technology enables it to extract and purify high-grade collagen from a unique source – sheep skins as distinct from the traditional cow, horse and pig sources, with greater yields and higher grades. CollTech will initially produce insoluble and acid soluble collagen for sale into the food additives, cosmetics and skincare markets. The company is currently undertaking R&D into the production of high-grade acid soluble collagen for supply into medical grade markets.
