GLOBAL environmental and social impact assessment consultancy, Coffey Natural Systems, has bought Perth-based firm Q&A Communications Group for an undisclosed sum.
While the acquisition allows Coffey Natural Systems access to Q&A's intellectual property, Q&A founder Danicia Dutry said the move would give her small business access to an international market.
Ms Dutry, a 2004 WA Business News 40under40 winner, established Q&A in 2002 as a niche player bridging the gap between traditional management areas of operational compliance, communications, marketing, research, and risk management.
"The Coffey Natural Systems acquisition really gives Q&A that capacity to delivery its services and to meet the demands of the emerging market for social performance and consultancy services on a wider scale," Ms Dutry told WA Business News.
She said social performance was becoming a priority for developers and operators of major projects, as global financial institutions, governments and local communities became more sensitive to the risks and impacts associated with developments.
Coffey Natural Systems is a specialist environmental and social impact assessment consultancy servicing the mining, oil and gas, and infrastructure sectors.
The company became a wholly owned business of Coffey International Limited in 2004.
