The Institute of Professional Development will hold a one-day symposium on the new corporate reporting legislation commonly referred to as Clerp 9, at the Burswood International Convention Centre.
The new legislation, which was put in place on July one this year, impacts on the livelihood and operations of company auditors, boards, chief executive officers, chief financial officers, senior officers and employees of public companies.
The changes predominantly concern CEO and CFO declarations to the board, new liability reforms for auditors and employees regarding the financial report, new disclosures in both the directors and auditors reports and new shareholder approval requirements, new legal requirements concerning audit standards and audit independence, new requirements for registration of company auditors, whistle-blower protection measures for employees and the new Financial Reporting Panel and its interaction with companies.
The forum is designed for CEOs, company secretaries, human resource managers, CFOs, corporate counsel, risk managers, company auditors, company directors and academics.
Keynote speakers will be ASIC (WA) commissioner Michael Gething, ASIC chief accountant Greg Pound, Deacons partner John Groppoli, Ernst and Young partner John Copp and Alinta Ltd chief financial officer John Cahill.
Registrations can be made with the Institute of Professional Development for $870.
