City volunteers

A VOLUNTEER scheme to help visitors and shoppers in the Perth CBD is to be launched next month.

The City of Perth wants volunteers to get its City-i program off the ground.

Volunteers need a knowledge of the central city area, be able to answer questions and provide directions to tourists and other visitors and present a positive image of the city of Perth.

City CEO Garry Hunt said the council was looking for self-motivated people who had a keen interest in the city.

“We will help train volunteers to become ambassadors for the City,” Mr Hunt said.
