INTERNET and information technology business Chrome Global has entered the application service provider market.
The company is offering Oracle Financials over the Internet or wide area network as a ‘leased’ application to current and prospective clients.
Chrome managing director Kevin Baum said the ASP industry was a rapidly emerging area.
Companies adopting the ASP model can free their IT staff from supporting core systems while gaining the economies of scale offered by the model.
Under the model, Chrome Global will be responsible for the ongoing support, maintenance and upgrading of the Oracle Financials application.
Customers can access the service on a per-use, per month basis at a fraction of the cost of purchasing, deploying and supporting the same software inhouse.
