Chemeq locks in Chinese IP protection

EMERGING local veterinary pharmaceutical company Chemeq has secured patent protection for its polymeric antimicrobial product in China until the year 2020. The patent gives protection to Chemeq for the manufacture and marketing of its product. The company’s manufacturing facility south of Perth was completed in August last year and is currently undergoing commissioning and optimisation. To date, Chemeq has received product approval in South Africa and New Zealand. According to Chemeq, distribution agreements have already been secured in South Africa, New Zealand and Malaysia. Chemeq signed its first $1.5 million sales order with a South African group in August 2004.
