Changes at Ibis

THE Hotel Ibis on Murray Street in the city is to undergo a significant redevelopment, including the addition of two new retail tenancies on Murray Street.

As part of the redevelopment, the hotel’s bar and restaurant will move to the rear of the building, making way for the new retail space.

FPD Savills consultant Chas Moore said the move was prompted by the strong performance of retail on Murray Street.

“We have opened up two prime retail tenancies, which should net an extra $140,000 a year,” Mr Moore said. “The west end has been the focus of many retailers due to the predictions of increased traffic flow from the Woodside building and other developments in the area.
