A SELECT group of just three young engineers received multiple nominations from people outside their current firm.
Of this group, GHD project engineer Matthew Daley was also nominated in the project manager category.
Mr Daley, who has five years’ experience on a range of dam projects, is presently project manager for the City of Perth’s foreshore irrigation project.
The first phase of the project, on the Ozone Reserve near the Causeway, is due for completion in September.
It includes the construction of a two-hectare storage lake, a water treatment plant to reduce the iron content in bore water, and a pump station.
The second phase involves construction of three lakes on the Esplanade Reserve, near Barrack Street.
As well as lifting the efficiency of City of Perth’s irrigation system, the project is designed to improve the aesthetics and amenity of the reserves.
