PERTH-based Carey Mining, an indigenous owned and managed mining and civil contractor, was a finalist in two categories of the 2004 Corporate Leaders for Indigenous Employment Awards.
The company featured in the finals for the ‘Outstanding Organisation’ and ‘Outstanding Manager’ categories.
This is Carey’s third placing in two years. Carey’s managing director, Daniel Tucker won the ‘Outstanding Manager’ award in 2003.
Established in 1995, the company currently employs 40 indigenous personnel, in a total workforce of 76, working for leading mining companies including AngloGold Ashanti and LionOre International.
