Carbon acquisition fuels growth

Carbon Business Group has announced the purchase of Pursuit Group, adding to a number of acquisitions in the past year worth more than $2 million combined.

Since its inception in 2014 the group has purchased accounting firms in Ellenbrook, Bibra Lake and Midvale and can now add the Wangara-based financial consultants service Pursuit to its list.

Co-founder and head of Carbon accounting Nathan Hood said the acquisition aligned with the business’s aspiration to dominate the accounting industry and become Australia’s leading provider.

Pursuit principal Karl Jackson said it provided an opportunity for his group to offer its clients extra service.

“Pursuit has seen tremendous success in recent years, but in the current market we had to have a competitive advantage over other accounting firms,” he said.

“By joining Carbon, Pursuit’s clients have easy access to an extended list of business services.”

Carbon capitalised on the innovation of cloud accounting software Xero and is now the biggest Xero bookkeeping partner in Australia and the third largest partner worldwide.

Carbon co-founder Jamie Davison was a 40u40 winner in this year’s small business/startup category.
