Capilano Honey bids for Wescobee

Western Australia’s major honey producer Wescobee has become the subject of a takeover offer by listed Brisbane company Capilano Honey.

Capilano announced today it has made an offer to acquire Wescobee’s honey packing and distribution operations, so that it can merge those operations with its own.

The value of the takeover offer was not disclosed.

Wescobee has operated since 1926 and is exclusively owned by WA beekeepers.

Capilano said it expected to benefit from the increased scale of operations, if the proposed deal is completed.
