Ashley Reid has been appointed as the new chief executive of Cancer Council WA, replacing Susan Rooney who is stepping down in April, having led the organisation since 2002.
Cancer Council staff were advised this week that Mr Reid has been appointed as chief executive and would commence in the role on May 8.
Mr Reid will leave his current position as the chief executive of Ngala, a provider of parenting and early childhood services, where he has been responsible for the cultural leadership, strategy, governance, and service outcomes for the past five years.
Prior to Ngala Mr Reid was the executive director of family and community services at MercyCare, where he managed an $11 million budget across 20 service locations and held various senior management roles.
He has more than 24 years’ experience in various roles within the community in public service and health services sector and in his early career worked in employment services and with disadvantaged youth.
