Calling citizens
NOMINATIONS are being called for the 2004 Western Australian Citizen of the Year Awards.
Nomination forms are available on Celebrate WA’s website www.celebratewa.com.au or can be collected from the organisation’s headquarters at 16 St Georges Terrace, Perth.
All nominations have to be in by April 23.
The nine award categories are Arts, Culture & Entertainment, Community Service, Industry & Commerce, The Professions, Sport, Youth, the Syd Donovan Youth Arts Award, the Governor’s Award for Regional Development and the Golden Swan Award for an outstanding voluntary service organisation.
Past award winners include Ralph Sarich, Dr Michael Kailis, Kerry Stokes, Professor Fiona Stanley and Dr George O’Neil.
Last chance for a Gecko
RESOURCE companies and individuals that have made an outstanding contribution to improving the environment in the past year are reminded that entries for the Golden Gecko Awards close on March 26.
The awards recognise advances and innovations in environmental practise in the mineral and petroleum industries.
