ENGINEERING services group Calibre has opened a Queensland office as part of its expansion program, appointing Paul Bartlett to run the new operation. Recognised as Western Australia’s fastest growing private company in the WA Business News 2005 Rising Stars Awards, Calibre was established by Jack Rowley, Ray Munroe, and Andrew Rowe in 2002. It now has more than 400 employees. Mr Bartlett will oversee operations for the groups five business, which focus on the mining, minerals and energy resource sectors. Mr Bartlett has been with the Calibre Projects division for nearly three years in the role of project manager on some of Western Australia’s largest resource development projects, including Rio Tinto’s West Angelas 25 million tonne mine expansion. He has more than 30 years’ experience in a broad range of resource projects across Australia, having previously worked for over four years with a Brisbane-based major mining contractor. Calibre also has offices in Perth, Melbourne and Singapore.
