CVCheck makes NZ acquisition

Online screening and verification company CVCheck has entered the international market through the purchase of New Zealand company Resume Check in a deal worth nearly $2 million.

CVCheck will pay $1.86 million in cash and shares to wholly acquire Resume Check, with the target’s team to remain with the business and be led by existing managing director James Sutherland.

Resume Check has a client base of about 300 customers across the education, healthcare, infrastructure, services, construction, government and financial services sectors.

“Resume Check represents an excellent growth platform for CVCheck in New Zealand, and by leveraging our technology platform, strong brand, and sales and marketing techniques, we are confident that the business will continue to enjoy the strong growth it has delivered over many years,” CVCheck chief financial officer Rod Sherwood said.

“We are delighted to welcome James and the Resume Check team and customers to CVCheck.

“We recognise the value of what James and the team have built in New Zealand in the last decade, and the opportunity to further enhance Resume Check’s offering by bringing our businesses together is compelling.”

Mr Sutherland said the integration process with CVCheck was already under way.

“We are now focused on driving growth in the New Zealand market for this financial year and into FY18,” he said.

“This represents an excellent opportunity for our team to be part of a public company with strong growth prospects.”

CVCheck shares were unchanged at 29 cents each at the close of trade.

CVCheck started trading on the ASX in September last year, after completing a $10 million initial public offering.
