CFS hits 8%

CHRONIC Fatigue Syndrome afflicts around 8 per cent of the Australian population in some form, according to the Chronic Fatigue Advisory Centre’s Paul and Linda Storer.

Paul Storer, a PhD and university research scientist, has been studying the effects of CFS at a cellular level.

Dr Storer said CFS was found in all age groups and socio-economic groups, with increasing numbers of adolescents being diagnosed.

As awareness of the syndrome increases, more men are also presenting with CFS.
