CEO given discretion

COUNCIL CEO Garry Hunt has been authorised to set the auction reserve price and a minimum sale price for the sale of council’s property at 998 and 1000 Wellington Street, West Perth.

Mr Hunt has been authorised to accept any offer at or above the minimum price should the properties not sell at auction.

Councillor Laurance Goodman said he was concerned about the phraseology of setting a reserve price and a minimum price.

“We should give the CEO the discretion to make a commercial decision if a price comes in below the reserve price,” Mr Goodman said.

The land parcel is due to go under the hammer on 2 June.
