This place needs all the help it can get. I have lived here 26 years and am a Canadian expatriate, 52 years of age. We just did a quick trip to Canada and I was very pleased to see the freedom people had to shop and socialize freely and safely. In Kingston Ontario which is an historic city of around 75,000. It has a vitality on it's foreshore that makes Perth look like Kalgoorlie (no offense intended to Kalgoorlie residents). The leaders here must learn to take the bull by the horns and get Perth and surrounds out of the Dark Ages! Even the accidental Government we have in power now has a better idea what the vast majority of people really want and that is the freedom to shop when and where you want.

We don't need to be backwards to be different than the eastern states. Keep Sundays, make the week days longer hrs.
