CCI WorkChoices Conference

The Chamber of Commerce and Industry (WA) is holding a forum on what the new Workplace Reforms means for WA businesses, May 17 at the Sheraton Hotel. The Federal Government’s new WorkChoices legislation represents a significant overhaul of Australian industrial relations and will have an impact on almost all businesses. This conference aims to provide business people with the relevant information needed to adapt to the new legislation. Key speaker for the event include: • Kevin Andrews – Minister for Employement and Workplace Relations; • Professor Ian Harper – chairman of the Australian Fair Pay Commission; • Peter McIlwain – Employment Advocate; • Brendan McCarthy – deputy president – Australian Industrial Relations Commission; • Professor Greg Craven – Curtin University of Technology; and • John Blackburn – barrister at Francis Burt Chambers.
