The state government has made an amendment to the metropolitan planning scheme to facilitate the development of a 429 hectare tract of land in Bullsbrook for industrial purposes.
Mr Day announced yesterday a Metropolitan Region Scheme Amendment to allow for the development of general and light industrial land.
The tract of land is in close proximity to the future extension of the Great Northern Highway, which will become known as the Perth to Darwin highway and the Perth to Geraldton railway.
“This amendment will allow for the development of primarily general and light industrial land following an amendment to the local planning scheme, detailed structure planning and subdivision approval,” Mr Day said.
“The growth in the metropolitan area’s north-east corridor is expected to continue and this proposed amendment will help provide employment opportunities to benefit the wider Bullsbrook and Ellenbrook community.”
