The new 123-bed facility is due to open its doors to patients on 27 August.
That will trigger the state government exercising its contractual right to purchase the 60 private beds in the St John of God Midland Public and Private Hospital, which opened in 2015.
This will result in the existing facility, located just a short walk from the new hospital, becoming a fully public 367-bed hospital.
St John of God Midland Private Hospital chief executive Vanessa Unwin said reaching practical completion was an exciting milestone and reflected years of planning and collaboration.
"With practical completion achieved, we’re now focused on commissioning and final preparations ahead of welcoming our first patients in August,” she said.
On the construction front, the project was a showcase for contractor Built’s digital-first approach.
It utilised digital engineering, virtual reality technology and detailed 3D modelling to improve coordination, enhance efficiency and identify potential issues before construction began.
Built’s WA director Jon Stone said that by overlaying a virtual model onto the physical construction site, project teams were able to resolve challenges early, helping improve project certainty and support successful delivery.
"Delivering a modern hospital is an incredibly complex undertaking, and achieving practical completion ahead of schedule is a testament to the seamless collaboration between Built, St John of God Health Care and our outstanding sub-contractors," he said.
"By adopting a digital-first approach from day one our teams were able to build with extreme precision, eliminating traditional construction friction points and ensuring absolute project certainty.”
The hospital includes eight operating theatres and an interventional cardiology catheterisation laboratory, the first of its kind in the Midland area.
