Building a bright future

A LOCAL architect has been awarded the Future Directions Young Achiever Award for 2002

The award, developed to recognise the achievements of young property professionals in WA, provides an opportunity to acknowledge the work of young people in all facets of the industry.

Other finalists included shopping centre mangers, development managers and project managers.

Barry Baltinas joked that, at the age of 34, he had only won the award because it was the last year he could compete for it.

As managing director of Vision Architects, Dawntree Australia and 3D, Mr Baltinas clearly impressed the judges.

The 3D simulation work that Mr Baltinas undertakes through his work at 3D Firm has provided an exciting new way to market property to prospective buyers and tenants.

The simulations allow developers to walk potential buyers through a space ahead of its construction.

Mr Baltinas worked on the Miami Apartments in West Perth, Bureau Apartments Subiaco and Bridgewater Apartments Perth.
