Bug busting alliance to hold Y2K seminars

PERTH-based CISA Technologies has formed an alliance with international Y2K specialist, The Software Revo-lution Inc.

TSRI has been retained by the Boeing company in the US to ensure it is Y2K compliant before 1 January 2000.

The TSRI-CISA Technologies alli-ance is holding a series of special half-day seminars in Perth at the WA Department of Commerce & Trade.

CISA Technologies director John Geling said, while companies and organisations should not panic about the 2YK problem, there was now limited time to ensure system compliance.

Mr Geling said a major risk factor for organisations was having the mistaken belief their systems were compliant.

“To date, many companies and organisations have employed Y2K compliance checking systems that are too easily exposed to human error,” Mr Geling said.

“The patented TSRI checking software is a knowledge-based checking system that uses artificial intelligence to check systems at very high speed.”

Mr Geling claimed the TSRI systems checking system was not only foolproof but superior to other systems in speed and accuracy.

“It has the ability to process large systems rapidly – a processing speed in the order of 100,000 lines per day for inspection and 25,000 per day for complete correction.”

Mr Geling said most maintenance tools were not sophisticated enough to handle Y2K maintenance on complex, mission-critical systems.

Also, CISA Technologies is offering small to medium business organisations a complete and comprehensive Y2K inspection and report that covers:

• Data exchange

• User data

• Software applications

• Operating systems

• Hardware and firmware.
