UPDATED: The assets of interior design and construction firm Habitat 1 have been purchased by Broome-based builder Brolga Developments and Constructions.
Habitat 1, founded in 2004, was bought by Perth investor Geoff Pritchard and at at its peak ranked as the 16th largest interior design firm in Perth, according to the industry ranking on the BNiQ Search Engine.
Brolga has bought the residual assets of the company, including one employee (a designer) and its domain name and brand.
Mr Pritchard said the company would add to Brolga’s interior brand.
“We’re pleased that Habitat 1 has a new home with Brolga, a business with the background and experience to take Habitat 1 forward and look forward to seeing Brolga build on Habitat 1’s reputation as the leading interior design and construction business in Western Australia,” he said.
Established in Broome in 2001, Brolga expanded to Perth in 2005, and has grown to become a builder and developer in Broome and the West Kimberley as well as Perth and the South West.
In July 2015, Brolga acquired Network Interiors which is involved in office and commercial fitouts, specialising in hospitality fitouts.
Network was established in 1996 by Greg Nicol who remains with the firm.
