Mining contractor Brierty has announced a $39 million contract win at Fortescue Metals Group’s Cloudbreak iron ore mine in the Pilbara.
Brierty will construct rail formation for six sidings at Cloudbreak, including bulk earthworks and drill and blast operations.
Managing director Peter McBain said the contract win was a result of the company’s strong previous performance working on Fortescue’s expansion projects.
“Our experience and ability to perform on large civil infrastructure projects, such as the $60 million Solomon Rail Spur contract that is nearing completion, is being recognised by our clients,” Mr McBain said.
“We look forward to successfully delivering on this additional contract for Fortescue, which fits well with our capabilities and is in line with our business strategy.”
