Civil contractor Brierty Limited (ASX: BYL) has secured a contract with Mount Gibson Iron Limited for the construction of a haul road to the Extension Hill mine site.
Brierty will commence the $18m contract in May with a majority of the revenue contributing to FY11.
The contract scope includes construction of 85 kilometres of road from Extension Hill to Perenjori, intersection upgrades and ancillary road related works.
Brierty Managing Director Stuart Crofts said Brierty was pleased to secure this strategic project in the Mid West and to be working with Mount Gibson Iron again.
"Brierty has proven its ability to deliver value-for-money project outcomes to WA's emerging iron ore industry and to forge long term business relationships based on our contracting approach and solid contract performance," Mr Crofts said.

The Extension Hill project, located 260kms east south east of Geraldton in Western Australia, recommenced development and construction earlier this year. It is one of a number of resource projects in WA's fast growing Mid West region that Brierty is targeting.
"Our management team is focused on developing the business in key growth sectors and the company is well placed to take advantage of developments in the resources sector," Mr Crofts said.
