STAFF retention is looming as one of the major concerns for bosses, according to a recent report from employment group Hudson.
The Hudson Report survey of more than 7,800 employers found that 38 per cent of managers identified staff development and retention as their organisation’s highest human resources priority for the year.
In Western Australia the emphasis on retaining and developing staff was the highest nationally, with more than 40 per cent of managers giving this their highest priority.
Enhancing performance and productivity was considered the most important priority by 21 per cent of managers nationally followed by attracting suitable staff (20 per cent).
The professional services sector rated staff retention highest with to 45.7 per cent of managers ranking it as their highest priority.
