Boom Logistics has won a contract to supply cranes and associated services for the construction of the $500 million accommodation village for the Gorgon gas project.
Boom today said the contract is valued at about $4 million over a 15-month period, with a 12 month option to extend.
The contract was awarded by the TDK joint venture between Thiess, Decmil Group and Kentz Group, which will build the 3,300 person construction village on Barrow Island.
"This is a significant early step for Boom following the formation of our heavy lift division," chief executive Brenden Mitchell said.
"We are encouraged by this progress and remain focused on our strategy of delivering highly specialised services and new cranes into the oil and gas sectors."
Work under the Boom contract is expected to start in the first half of 2010.
