Equatorial Resources has appointed non-executive director John Welborn as managing director and chief executive. Mr Welborn is a former investment banker and mining company director. He has been with the board since August 2010 and was responsible for a successful period of transformation which included the acquisition and exploration of existing iron ore assets in West Africa, and the acquisition and divestment of investment in African Iron.
Estrella Resources has appointed current chief executive Chris Daws as managing director, Neil Hutchison as non-executive technical director and Steve Warriner as exploration manager. Mr Daws has been chief executive since January 2017 and Mr Hutchison has been the company’s consultant geologist since April 2019. Mr Warriner has over 30 years of experience in the resources and mining industry in Western Australia and overseas, and over 20 years exploring and mining intrusive and extrusive nickel deposits around Western Australia.
New Energy Minerals has appointed Dr Bernard Olivier and Dr Evan Kirby as non-executive technical directors, as part of its plan to acquire and advance new mineral exploration projects. Paul Ching and Jackie Lee have resigned from the board. Dr Olivier, a former managing director of the company, is a qualified geologist and has been involved with the mining and exploration industry for over 22 years. Dr Kirby is a metallurgist with over 40 years of experience, and has held leading roles in numerous metals and minerals projects including several world-class developments.
